PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Jakob de Lemos, creator of the Emotion Tool™ emotion quantification software, and inventor of the iMotions - emotion measurement technology. He has filed several patents on the core technology and applications and is co-founder of iMotions – Emotion Technology – a company specialized in providing emotion measurement technologies to the marketing and advertising research industry. Jakob has been working close to the marketing industry for the last 7 years – in order to specialize and target the development of emotion technology – to fulfill the needs of the market research and product innovation industry. He has a background within Psychophysics, Computer Science, Marketing and Media Informatics. Jakob is a regular speaker at both scientific and business conferences where he speaks about measuring and quantifying human emotions recent events are the ESOMAR World Congress in Berlin in 2007, WARC – The Future of Advertising Research in London 2008, Packaging Connects in Chicago 2008 and Design & Emotion – Dare to Desire in Hong Kong 2008. Besides being passionate innovator and technologist in iMotions he also explore new ideas within digital media and interface design by experimenting with new technology in the context of robots and interactive art-installations.

He has contributed recently with papers to ESOMAR, ARF, AdMap, Measuring Behavior, and Design & Emotion. He is a member of European Society for Opinion and Marketing Research (ESOMAR), Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), Special Interest Group on Computer–Human Interaction (SIGCHI-DK), Society For Psychophysiological Research (SPR) and Cognitive Science Society among others.
